Exhibition Histories Talks: WHW/What, How & for Whom – video online
On Wednesday 25 February 2015, Ivet Ćurlin from the Zagreb-based curatorial collective WHW/What, How & for Whom joined Afterall’s Line Ellegaard for the eighth in our series of talks analysing exhibitions through the personal accounts of the curators responsible for them.
Following Ćurlin’s presentation of WHW’s curatorial project for the 11th Istanbul Biennial ‘What Keeps Mankind Alive?’ (2009), Ćurlin and Ellegaard focussed on questions of the curatorial strategies for – as well as the reception of – this exhibition. Further discussion reflected on exhibitions as educational spaces in relation to WHW’s recent exhibition ‘Really Useful Knowledge’ (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, 2014–2015).
This events series is a collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery, London and part of the Exhibition Histories research and publication project, led by Afterall in collaboration with the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College.
