Pablo Lafuente and Lisette Lagnado: ‘Exhibition Histories: A Critical Alternative to Art History’

In a public conversation held at Escola São Paulo, Pablo Lafuente and Lisette Lagnado will discuss Exhibition Histories as a new field of knowledge that offers critical alternatives to the theory and history of art.

This event is the first in a series of research seminars that will be held in São Paulo and London leading to the publication of an Afterall Exhibition Histories book on the XXIV Bienal de São Paulo, with a core essay by Lagnado.

Afterall’s Pablo Lafuente will present the lines of research of the MRes: Exhibition Studies at Central Saint Martins, which he coordinates together with Lucy Steeds, and Lagnado will discuss the XXIV Bienal de São Paulo, curated by Paulo Herkenhoff.

The event will be held on Wednesday 5 September from 10 a.m. to midday at Escola São Paulo,Rua Augusta 2074, São Paulo, Brazil.
