Exhibition Histories Talks: Ruth Noack

12 dec 2013
Public talk
Whitechapel Gallery, London.

We are pleased to announce the fourth in our series of talks analysing and contextualising exhibitions through the personal accounts of the curators responsible, co-organised with the Whitechapel Gallery in London. On Thursday 12 December 2013 Ruth Noack will be in conversation with Afterall’s Pablo Lafuente.

Each talk takes the form of a focused discussion between a member of the Afterall or Whitechapel Gallery team and the curator of an exhibition or series of exhibitions. Ruth Noack and Pablo Lafuente will discuss curatorial projects that have been pivotal to Noack’s practice, including ‘Dinge, die wir nicht verstehen’ (Things We Don’t Understand, 2000), a show that sought to explore the role of irritation and bewilderment in contemporary art, and the exhibition series The Government (2003–05), both co-curated with Roger M. Buergel.
